******* NOTES:
- This control file ASSUMES that DCD (lead 8) is
connected between the modem and your computer.
- This control file ASSUMES that the modem will not
answer while DTR is LOW. To achieve this you may
have to set some hardware switches (see below) or
some software switches using LINK and at Terminal
mode give the following commands (exactly as shown):
ATZ
AT &D3 &W
- This control file has been designed for HUBs using
external modems. It will keep DTR low all during the time
that initialization is happening. This is done so that
if a call comes at initialization time, it will not
answer and loose the call. In certain modems this
can be enhanced by Pre-programming the DTR control
- For free-standing model, the switches behind the
front panel must be set as follows:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
1. DTR monitored
2. Res codes in words
3. Res codes sent
4. Echo ON
5. DISABLE auto-ans (controlled by HAYES-EX.DEF)
6. DTR lead (for hang-up)
7. Single line
8. Enable command recognition
